Member Service Representative/Teller (Full Time & Part Time)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represents the Credit Union to the members in a friendly, positive, and professional manner greeting members and guests as they enter the facility during their visit or during a visit to one of our employer groups.
  • Processes member requests and transactions in a positive, accurate and professional manner face to face and on the phone.
  • Recognizes member’s needs for services and presents and refers them appropriately.
  • Handles all monetary transactions for members (i.e., deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing) and other normal inquiries including examines checks for endorsements and negotiability.
  • Sales: all Telcoe products including: consumer loan and mortgage products.
  • Familiar with all company procedures and processes to accurately assist customers. 
  • Record and prepare logs, reports, and reconcile cash and checks.
  • Meets or exceeds individual and branch sales goals as assigned by management.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Senior Financial Analyst

This position will play a key role in financial reporting for the credit union. This team member will ensure complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial records for the credit union and will provide consultation and expert advice to management. This includes providing results in the proper context and explaining key metrics and trends. Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management, exercising discretion and independent judgment in decision-making. This individual will execute other finance functions essential for measuring the goals & performance of the organization. Fulfills responsibilities of the position while maintaining a positive attitude and provides high level of internal service to assist other team members in providing exceptional internal and external service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare, distribute, and provide analysis of monthly and quarterly management reports.
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting/analysis assignments.
  • Complete and submit monthly ALCO reporting.
  • Assists in preparation of budgets.
  • Assist in Industry research and account analysis for product upgrades and additions.
  • This position will be a member of the ALCO committee and head the Compliance Review Committee.
  • Completes various external and internal reporting based on financial data extracts.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of the Call Report.
  • Responsible for maintaining CU’s Asset Liability Model utilizing third party services and support.
  • Reviews and keeps CU abreast of changes in regulatory and compliance updates, works closely with management team.
  • Responsible for maintaining CU’s Investments, balancing and reporting.
  • Attends training conferences and webinars as assigned.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.

The position requires skills, education/ training and experience in the following areas:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a Finance or Accounting related field. In addition to the academic requirement, the employee should have five or more years of related experience in Finance and/or Accounting. Experience with data extracts and running financial models is a plus.

Member Service II – Card Services

The Member Service II position encompasses not only standard member service and sales via phone, lobby, and teller line, but also the card service department.

Card Services Representatives assist with all aspects of MasterCard credit and debit card accounts including verifying accuracy, resolving problems, reissuing cards and making adjustments. This is a multi-faceted position, ranging from complex problem-solving to great phone etiquette. Make recommendations towards decisions to renew or maintain account relationships.

Your decision-making skills and diplomacy will help the department run as smoothly as possible.

As Member Service Representative, you will:

 As Card Services Representative, you will:

  • Work reports daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
  • Serve members via telephone to explain products, review transactions, pull statements and recommend corrective posting or account adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide phone support to internal staff regarding transaction research or ATM/Debit card inquiries; handle irate and/or complex customer inquiries or complaints
  • Determine credit availability
  • Process new and replacement ATM/Debit/Credit card requests according to department policies and procedures
  • Review card maintenance requests to ensure proper authorization and documentation; perform card maintenance timely and accurately
  • Scanning documents into Onbase
  • Respond to customer Reg E inquiries and/or investigate Reg E transaction disputes
  • Assist in special projects and tasks for all departments; work closely with audit and compliance departments as needed

  • 1 -2 years related experience with debit and credit cards (mastercard preferred) and/or training required.
  • Previous teller experience preferred.
  • Required background in banking customer service and sales.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to sell products and services effectively and meet goals.

  • Must have intermediate to advanced ability in Word for Windows, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Knowledge of Card Act, Mastercard Regulations, and Reg E preferred
  • Knowledge of Symitar, Data Navigator, and PSCU Evolve and other systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to work rotating Saturdays – 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
  • Must be able to work first and last day of the month when falls on the weekend.
  • Must be able to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM shift.
  • Banking and/or credit union experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a call center environment preferred.
